• South-West London (Kingston, Richmond): 40–55 minutes — one of the fastest approaches
• East London / Canary Wharf: 80–100 minutes via the Blackwall Tunnel or Rotherhithe

On public show days — particularly Saturday — Hampshire Constabulary and the event organisers implement road management around the venue. We recommend departing at least 30 minutes earlier than these estimates on Friday and Saturday, and planning your return for after 18:00 when the heaviest outbound traffic has cleared.

Trade Days vs Public Days: Does It Matter for Hire?

The Farnborough International Airshow 2026 runs Monday 20 July to Sunday 26 July:

• Trade days (Mon–Thu, 20–23 July): Strictly for industry accreditation holders. Roads are significantly clearer — ideal if your group qualifies. Coach access and parking are smoother.
• Public days (Fri–Sun, 24–26 July): Open to all ticket holders. Saturday is the busiest single day of the whole show. Road management around the venue is most active. Allow extra journey time and plan an early departure from London.

Leave London earlier than you think you need to

If the gates open at 08:30 and you want to be there for the flying display, departing at 06:45 from London is sensible on a Saturday. It sounds extreme until you've sat in the queue on the A325 for an hour and missed the first half of the flying programme.

Bring more layers than you expect to need

Farnborough in late July can be warm on the flight line and unexpectedly cold in the shade or later in the afternoon. Groups leaving coats on the coach often wish they hadn't. Brief passengers to bring a layer regardless of the morning forecast.
